About 20 minutes, self-guided. Your answers teach the AI how your practice talks, and at the end you'll have your practice code and the app on its way.

Have these ready before you start:

Login credentials for the social channels you'll use. At minimum, admin access to your practice's Facebook page. If you want Instagram, TikTok, or Google Business Profile too, have those logins handy.
A few things your practice has written that sound like you: past posts, a newsletter, your website's about page, a client email you were proud of. You'll paste them in.
About 20 minutes, ideally on a computer (you'll be pasting text, which is clumsy on a phone).

On your phone right now? This setup is much easier on a computer. Your answers don't transfer between devices, so it's worth switching before you start typing.

Your practice and your people

Posts that work are about your doctors, your patients, and your town — not generic pet facts. These questions give the AI that material.

Take your time on the next three pages. They matter more than everything else combined. Specific names, real stories, and the way you'd actually say things produce posts that sound like your practice. Short, rushed answers produce a voice that sounds like anyone.

How your practice talks

The closer we can study your actual writing, the closer the posts will sound to you. Don't clean anything up first — the rough edges are the voice.

1. When your practice talks to clients, how does it sound?Warm and neighborly? Precise and clinical? Somewhere between? Say it in your own words. 2. Words or phrases you always use.The wording that sounds like you — e.g. "pet parents," how you refer to patients, a greeting you open with. 3. Boundaries and community

Patient privacy guardrails are built into every draft automatically. These questions set YOUR practice's lines on top of them.

1. Are patient stories OK if they're anonymized?"One of our patients," "a client's mare" — no names, no identifying details. 2. Topics you never want posted about.Euthanasia, pricing, specific competitors, anything else — we'll steer clear. 3. Local events, sponsorships, or causes your practice is part of.4-H, rodeo, shelter partnerships, school visits, fairs — the local fabric. 4. What kind of clients do you want more of?New puppy owners? Barrel racers? Backyard-chicken people? Be specific.

Where should your posts go?

One recording posts to everything you check here. Facebook is the anchor — the others ride along automatically.

Checking a box tells us what to set up — you can add or drop channels later, any time.

When you hit Continue, your answers come to us, your practice's voice profile starts taking shape, and your practice code is minted.

Add your logo

We put it in the corner of your photo posts, on a small backing panel so it shows up on any photo. It's optional — you can skip it and add it later from Settings in the app.

A logo file with a see-through background (a PNG) looks best. If it is hard to see on both backings, use the version of your logo that has its own background.

Manager PIN (optional)

Every phone you pair can record and post. If you'd rather only a manager could change your logo and where posts go, choose 4 digits. Each phone is asked once, then remembers it. You can also set or change it later in the app under Settings, Your practice.

Set up your review queue

Your drafts land in Buffer — the tool where you read each post, tweak it if you want, and approve it. We host the engine; you stay in control. Nothing posts without your practice's approval.

Step A: Create your free Buffer account

Go to buffer.com and sign up. The free plan covers up to three channels.
When it asks which channels to connect, connect your practice's Facebook Page. Buffer walks you through it with pictures. Go all the way through Buffer's setup wizard, then come back here.

Step B: Connect VetPost

Don't click Connect until Step A is done. Clicking it before your Buffer account exists dead-ends, and you'll just have to come back and click it again.

Check the box below, then click the button. Buffer will open in a new tab and ask you to allow Content Engine (that's us — VetPost's engine) to create drafts in your account.
Click Allow. Then come back here and hit Continue.

What happens next:

Install the app on the phone you'll actually record with.
Google Play for Android, App Store for iPhone.
Open VetPost and enter the code above. That pairs the app to your practice. Any phone at your practice can use the same code.
Record your first memo. Talk about the animal in front of you for two minutes. Your first draft lands in your Buffer review queue about 15 minutes later.

One five-minute setup to do in Buffer: set your Facebook posting schedule (it defaults to 14 posts a week). The VetPost Guide below walks you through it, and it's the only schedule you need to touch.
